In five years, I would like to be working as a librarian for the Ottawa Public Library system; preferably, I will be working as a teen librarian with an emphasis on Indigenous literature and graphic novels in a library cluster that has a high Indigenous patronage.  In order to achieve this goal, I will likely need to begin my relationship with the Ottawa Public Library as a page and work my way up.  Currently, I have frequently been checking job listings for the OPL and will continue to do so, hopefully securing a position as page before or by the time I graduate from the University of Ottawa.  Depending on the branch I am hired in, I would volunteer my time and shifts at other branches in need of staff to gain experience across the OPL system.  Furthermore, there are numerous skills I would like to hone in the coming five years.  These include improving my experience with knowledge organization such as creating and analyzing metadata for the purposes of resource description.  I would also like to continue to practice management and leadership skills such as server leadership, in which a worker does tasks for others or the public for no personal gain.
