Personality
I am quite introverted, preferring quieter spaces that stimulate personal, one-on-one interactions rather than large groups which can feel be very superficial. While public libraries are organized around interacting with patrons and reaching out to communities, I feel this work to be more personal and centered on relationship-building, which I am more comfortable engaging in. Additionally, I am generally an empathetic person, both through my upbringing, and I believe through reading books and sympathizing with the characters. I believe I can incorporate this part of myself when assisting library patrons with requests or searches, but also in promoting empathy to people through literature.

I also like to incorporate humour into most of what I do. I enjoy stand up comedy and sitcoms, and feel that injecting humour into situations can help to relax others and create a positive environment.

As perhaps is evidenced by the content of this iPortfolio, I am very academically-inclined and organized. I am motivated and able to conduct research to improve programs and services at the library as well as their collections. I am focused on providing factual and authoritative information to all professional and academic environments in order to best serve the public and uphold democracy through an informed citizenry.
